Nappy Rash.
What is the cause of nappy rash?
Nappy rash is usually caused when wet nappies are left on for too long giving the urine time to create infections such as ammonia dermatitis a type of diaper rash. Germs thrive especially well in wet nappies covered with plastic pilchers or pants. It is better to know the causes of diaper rash and its prevention so as to be better equipped to find the right treatment.
Another cause can be the use of some type of detergents or washing powders that can cause cause allergic reactions. In this case, the solution would be rinsing nappies well in fresh clean water very thoroughly before spin drying which is essential to get rid of any detergent residuals. Experimenting with different types of detergents is one way to find out which one is the safest to use in its prevention.
The Treatment:
It is best to keep the rash down to a minimum by changing nappies frequently. Prevention is better than cure. It will alleviate a lot of anguish and suffering from the horrible red sore rashes for baby. If one is concerned about the mountain of cloth nappy washing or the expense of buying more disposable nappies then allow baby to go without any nappies during the warmth of the day and reduce the use of plastic pilchers.
I usually allow my children to go without nappies during most of the day, allowing the affected area to air and heal naturally. However if there are any blisters or ulcerations, a Medical Doctor's advice must be sought for treatment.
The Good News:
Personal Testimony
I have used the cream myself, not nappy rash of course! Occasionally, some fabrics can cause irritation on my sensitive skin usually on my legs or arms. The red itchy bloches can be maddening. However, within 24 hours of applying the cream, all calm is restored and my skin is healed from those itchy rashes. I keep a supply of it handy in my cupboard confident that I won't have to suffer any rashes anymore.
